  Nomination for election
(Closing date: 15 November 2017)

    The Hong Kong Teachers' Centre (HKTC) aims to promote continuous professional development and enrichment among teachers as well as to foster among them a greater sense of unity and professionalism through a series of diversified activities. The Advisory Management Committee (AMC) of the HKTC is the advisory and management body of the Centre. The term of office of the AMC members of the 22nd Session (2016-18) will end soon. The nomination for election of the AMC members of the 23rd Session (2018-20) has commenced. According to the Constitution of the Centre, the term of office for the AMC members of the 23rd Session is a two-year term from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2020.

Organisation-nominated AMC Members:

    There are 35 seats of “Organisation-nominated Members” divided into 7 categories.  Those educational organisations, which conform to the Constitution of the Centre and have updated their particulars with the Centre six months before the beginning of the new session on 1 April 2018 are cordially invited to nominate candidates from their organisations to participate in the election.  Every eligible organisation is invited to nominate ONE of its members to stand for election to the AMC membership.

Teacher-nominated AMC Members:

    There are 35 seats of "Teacher-nominated Members" divided into 8 categories.  Heads of schools are cordially invited to nominate candidates from their schools to stand for the election.  Each school may nominate up to two candidates (full-time teachers).  In addition to school nomination, full-time teachers may also stand for election as an independent candidate after having obtained the signatures of at least 20 full-time teachers serving in the same school category.

The completed nomination form should be returned to the Secretariat of HKTC on or before Wednesday, 15 November 2017. Details for the submission of the nomination form are as follows:

    To ensure that the nomination forms can reach the Secretariat, candidates may consider submitting their nomination forms by registered mail or in person. All nomination forms submitted by fax or email and late submissions will not be accepted.

    Candidates are required to submit the electronic copies of their “Introduction to candidates” and photos on or before 8 December 2017. The Secretariat of HKTC will inform the candidates regarding the details of submission via email on or before 24 November 2017.

    Letters to schools and eligible organisations were sent out on 25 October 2017.
